Contributes Deep Financial and Compliance Healthcare Expertise

Shawn Strash, veteran healthcare leader and health system CEO, has been appointed to the Patient Alerting Logistics (PAL) Advisory Board, the critical healthcare messaging firm announced today.  With deep health system expertise and a particular focus on financial performance, Strash will enhance PAL’s focus on defining and articulating the return on investment of its service line as the company rapidly expands.

During his career, Mr. Strash has served as CEO for more than 21 hospitals and numerous ambulatory surgery centers, free-standing urgent cares, imaging centers and physician practices. In these roles, he has leveraged his skillset as a turn-around specialist, revenue cycle expert, and taken on merger and acquisition leadership roles.

Currently, Mr. Strash serves as CEO of SGS Health Group, which provides broad management and compliance expertise on health and safety issues across multiple industries, including analyzing a client’s current position and developing in-depth plans to meet all relevant regulatory guidelines.  Prior to that, he was CEO of Landmark Hospitals (Naples, FL), where he successfully turned around financial performance of nine facilities to position it for sale.

During his career, as a consultant , CEO, and in other leadership positions , Mr. Strash has been responsible for development and implementation of major strategic programs that have restored the financial viability or supported significant financial growth for hospitals, hospital chains and ambulatory care centers.

“I am extremely excited about joining a company with a solid, proven solution to address a critical healthcare problem,” says Mr. Strash.  “Over the years, I have witnessed firsthand the importance of tracking medical devices and maintaining communications with patients who have implanted devices, in particular.  This is essential to high quality patient care and the financial health of hospitals and other providers, which otherwise potentially place themselves at significant risk.  I look forward to becoming part of the solution to this ongoing problem.”

“Shawn is an immensely accomplished healthcare executive with diverse expertise,” comments Ryan Bass, PAL president and COO.  His experience with health systems, payors, and ambulatory surgery centers will continue to drive PAL forward.  We are fortunate to have Shawn add to the expertise of our advisory board.  His unique viewpoint will be an undeniable asset for us.”

About Patient Alerting Logistics (PAL)
No one should be harmed or die because of a medical intervention meant to save their life. Yet, every year thousands of people suffer needlessly due to a failure to communicate critical patient information across the entire healthcare ecosystem. A case in point are those who miss mission-critical messages about medical devices implanted in their own bodies. Hospitals, providers, device manufacturers and many others, as well as patients themselves all must contribute to deliver the message.
PAL’s mission–and passion–is facilitating this. By eliminating the archaic, manual processes in place today, PAL closes a significant communications gap and supports comprehensive information exchange and collaboration among all healthcare constituents, improving patient safety and saving lives. . . potentially the life of someone you know. PAL leverages leading edge technology, proven processes and an innovative perspective to create an ultra-reliable, modern communications system achieving one seemingly simple but challenging goal: immediate, reliable delivery of mission critical healthcare messaging to enhance patient care. With PAL: Message sent. Message delivered. Every time.
